This recipe will reveal how to cook a microwave fried egg. It is the best alternative to frying an egg without frying it. This is a simple recipe and only takes about two minutes. Since there is no skillet involved, this alternate recipe will reduce the amount of harmful oil used and the oil that spills all over your pot.
Remember: Before you go ahead and start cooking the fried egg in the microwave, remember the following:
When cooking eggs in the microwave, always penetrate the raw egg to break the skin a couple of times and wrap it with a paper towel. A week ago I discovered that if you skip this step, microwave eggs become more highly cited and will end up splattering all over the inside of the microwave.
Follow the steps below for the microwave fried eggs recipe:
Ingredients
Microwave safe mug or bowl.
A sheet of paper towel
A fresh egg
1 tablespoon. cooking oil (any kind is acceptable)
Process
Roll the oil into the bowl
Break the egg into the bowl and break the yolk (you can also add pepper, a little salt, tomato sauce, or other improvements during this time.
Cover with a kitchen towel. (It is imperative to break the yolk and shell, as intact eggs will pop like a balloon when heated in the microwave even for 30 seconds)
Keep in the microwave oven at maximum power for 70 seconds.
Let sit for an additional 60 seconds to allow the microwave fried egg to cool.
Serving the fried eggs in the microwave:
To serve, place the fried egg on a nice buttered toast, perhaps with a little microwaveable bacon (crispy). If, for whatever reason, you didn’t mix any sauce before you started cooking, now you have a chance to do so. I like to add two tablespoons of tomato sauce or a few drops of hot pepper sauce to spice it up a bit.
Some tips to follow to perfect this recipe:
If your fried egg after 70 seconds in the microwave is too soft for your taste, add another 10 seconds to cooking. Don’t overdo it though, because you’ll end up looking like something that could only be considered suitable for the container.
If you prefer a lighter yolk in your microwave fried egg, reduce the cooking time to no less than 45 seconds, unless you are trying to make a slightly warm raw egg recipe. I do not recommend this due to the danger of food poisoning.
